I'm currently planning my one and only "home sales" type party for this year (to be held the 26th of Jan). Here in the great frozen north, I've learned that one theme that gets a good response in the winter is a pajama party, even among adults! Everyone comes dressed in loungewear (comfy sweats, lounge pants, slippers, hair up or messy, etc), and brings a teddy bear or other stuffed animal with them. This particular party will include a presentation by the consultant, but one could just as easily have nail polish and makeup out to "play with", chick flicks to watch, and yummy sweets to enjoy. My treats for this one will be in the form of a chocolate fondue, with lots of fruits and sweets to dip, and different fondues to dip them into (perhaps even a chocolate fountain). I'm doing a hot cocoa bar as well, with a slow-cooker full of hot chocolate and various liquors for add-ins with marshmellows, whipped cream and cinnamon sticks available as well.

Naturally there will be tea at the ready, for those who prefer it, and/or want to cut the sweetness a bit. A japanese green, I think, and a yunnan black (since that has chocolatey undertones, and will go nicely with chocolate).

I'll be doing planning and reporting bits on my personal blog, along with pictures after the fact, if you're interested. It will be a subject on <a href="http://www.thevarietypages.blogspot.com" rel="nofollow">"Mystery Meat Thursdays"</a> for the next few weeks.
